Description of Polypropylene Film Capacitors
Polypropylene film capacitors have superior electrical
characteristics.
The film has very low dissipation factor and absorptivity, very
high insulation resistance and very high dielectric strength. The
film also has excellent moisture resistance, very good long-term
stability and excellent self-healing properties.
Polypropylene film capacitors are commonly used in high frequency
AC and pulse applications as well as DC link capacitors.
They are also used in switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), electronic
ballast and snubber applications, frequency discrimination and
filtering circuits, and energy storage and sample-and-hold
applications.
